CCTPA and Cat Tien National Park discussed the application of UAV technology in forest monitoring, carbon assessment, and international-standard carbon credit development.
On November 4, 2025, representatives from Cat Tien National Park Management visited the Headquarters of the ASEAN Carbon Credit Trading Platform Joint Stock Company (CCTPA) in Ho Chi Minh City. The meeting focused on the potential use of UAV technology in forest resource monitoring, biodiversity conservation, and carbon stock evaluation – a crucial foundation for future carbon credit projects.
During the working session, CCTPA introduced its CarbonFly technology solution, which integrates UAVs, LiDAR, and multispectral imaging. This technology enables highly accurate, real-time monitoring of forest changes, automates biomass measurement, and estimates carbon storage. The collected data can directly support validation and certification of carbon credits under international standards such as Verra VCS, enhancing transparency and efficiency in forest management.
Both sides discussed long-term collaboration initiatives aimed at developing a carbon credit project in Cát Tiên National Park. This marks an important step in connecting modern technology with nature conservation efforts and carbon finance mechanisms, contributing to green economic growth and Vietnam’s Net Zero targets.
CCTPA expects this cooperation to pave the way for a flagship project demonstrating the application of digital technology in forest protection and carbon market development in Vietnam.
