CCTPA attends the Vietnam–Japan Business Connection Forum

11.12.2025

On December 4, 2025, CCTPA attended the Vietnam–Japan Business Connection Forum held at Can Tho University. The forum focused on the theme: “Unlocking the potential of commodities in the Mekong Delta region.” The event gathered representatives from government agencies, academic institutions, associations, and businesses from both countries to discuss cooperation in developing regional products and upgrading value chains in line with global standards.

Enhancing agri-aquaculture quality and the pressure of export “greening”

At the forum, delegates discussed solutions to promote sustainable agriculture. Key discussions addressed meeting stringent environmental standards from major export markets such as Japan, the EU, and the United States.

Highlighted priorities included improving the quality of agricultural and aquaculture products to meet international standards, strengthening collaboration among Government – Academia – Enterprises, and enhancing supply chain transparency.

The forum also emphasized the need to transition toward low-emission production models to improve competitiveness. As export markets tighten environmental requirements and demand greater traceability, compliance pressure on businesses continues to rise. “Greening” agriculture is no longer a trend but a prerequisite for Mekong Delta enterprises to sustain and expand their market access.

Promoting green agriculture and carbon credit models in the Mekong Delta

CCTPA’s participation in the forum carries significant implications. The organization not only shared insights on the “greening” trend of agri-aquaculture value chains in the Mekong Delta but also reaffirmed its role as a partner to academia, regulators, and businesses in realizing sustainable development commitments.

Moving forward, CCTPA will continue to collaborate closely with Can Tho University and both domestic and international partners to promote low-emission agricultural models and carbon credit solutions. The organization will also support the implementation of green market mechanisms, contributing to deeper integration of Mekong Delta products into global value chains, particularly the Japanese market.

CCTPA partners with Can Tho University for low-emission agriculture

As a strategic partner of Can Tho University, CCTPA plays a key bridging role between academia, government, and the business community. With over 45 cooperation agreements with Japanese institutions, the university is advancing its vision of building a “Mekong Delta Food Valley” to elevate the regional agri-aquaculture brand.

Leveraging its expertise in sustainable development consulting, CCTPA collaborates with the university to research and pilot low-emission production models. The organization also supports businesses in developing low-emission supply chains and connecting with relevant international mechanisms and standards.

These efforts contribute to enhancing export value, strengthening competitiveness, and enabling businesses to better meet global sustainability requirements.
