CCTPA approved by Gia Lai Province to conduct surveys and develop carbon credit project documentation

Gia Lai Province has officially approved the Carbon Credit Trading Platform JSC (CCTPA), together with theirs partners, to conduct field surveys, collect data, and develop project proposal documentation for carbon credit projects within the province.

According to the approval decision, the Gia Lai Department of Finance is assigned to guide and support CCTPA throughout the entire process of surveying, assessment, and completion of project documentation, ensuring transparency standards, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the province’s green economic development strategy.

Opportunities to materialize forest and renewable energy carbon projects

Previously, on September 10, 2025, CCTPA held a working session with the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee to advance plans for surveys and baseline data collection for the project. At the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee agreed in principle to allow CCTPA and its partners to carry out preparatory activities and assigned relevant departments to provide guidance and support in accordance with the proposal of the Department of Finance.

Based on potential assessments and prior working sessions, together with the province’s official approval, CCTPA has identified strong development potential for forest-based carbon projects and renewable energy projects in Gia Lai. With its extensive forest coverage, forest carbon credit projects are expected to generate long-term value, contribute to ecosystem protection, and open new opportunities for the domestic carbon market. In parallel, Gia Lai also has favorable conditions for implementing renewable energy initiatives such as rooftop solar power and upgrades to public lighting systems, helping to reduce emissions, optimize operating costs, and strengthen the province’s green infrastructure.

The role of CCTPA in low-carbon economic development

The approval by Gia Lai Province to conduct surveys and develop project documentation marks a new milestone in CCTPA’s efforts to promote carbon market mechanisms in Vietnam. During the implementation phase, CCTPA positions itself as a long-term partner of Gia Lai Province in survey activities, data collection, and the standardization of project documentation in accordance with legal requirements and international standards.

As the carbon credit sector at the local level is still in the process of completing its legal framework, CCTPA and CT Group proactively coordinate with provincial departments and agencies to finalize the project, ensuring compliance with Vietnam’s regulatory framework and international requirements.

CCTPA’s participation not only supports Gia Lai Province in developing carbon credit projects, but also contributes to shaping a low-carbon economic development model aligned with Vietnam’s green growth orientation.

Cooperation toward green and sustainable development goals

As the first enterprise in Vietnam to initiate a carbon credit trading platform, CCTPA is proud to work alongside Gia Lai Province and relevant authorities in surveying and developing carbon credit projects derived from forests and renewable energy. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to promoting green growth, responding to climate change, and effectively harnessing the carbon credit potential of forest ecosystems.

We believe that, through close coordination, carbon credit projects in Gia Lai will contribute to advancing a low-carbon economy, strengthening forest protection, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and gradually bringing Vietnam closer to its Net Zero target. At the same time, CCTPA will continue to accompany partners and expand carbon credit projects nationwide, contributing to the development of a low-carbon economy, promoting sustainable green growth, and supporting Vietnam’s journey toward Net Zero.
