On December 4, 2025, CCTPA participated in the Vietnam – Japan Business Networking Forum held at Can Tho University. The event focused on the theme “Leveraging the Potential of Mekong Delta Products”. It brought together representatives from government agencies, academic institutions, associations, and enterprises from both countries. Delegates discussed cooperation opportunities to strengthen product development and upgrade regional value chains in line with global standards.
Enhancing agro-aquatic product quality and the pressure to green exports
At the forum, participants exchanged insights on advancing sustainable agriculture. Discussions centered on meeting strict environmental requirements imposed by key export markets such as Japan, the EU, and the United States. Key priorities highlighted included improving agro-aquatic product quality to align with international standards. Delegates also emphasized the need to reinforce linkages among the State, academia, and enterprises to guide sustainable development. In addition, the forum underscored the importance of promoting supply-chain transparency. Finally, stakeholders agreed on accelerating the transition toward low-emission production models to enhance competitiveness.
Export markets are tightening environmental standards and demanding greater supply-chain transparency, creating increasing compliance pressures for businesses. Green transformation in agriculture is no longer a trend; it is a prerequisite for Mekong Delta enterprises seeking to maintain and expand market access.
Advancing green agriculture and carbon credit solutions for the Mekong Delta
CCTPA’s participation at the Vietnam – Japan Business Networking Forum was particularly significant. The organization contributed perspectives on greening agro-aquatic value chains in the Mekong Delta. More importantly, its presence reaffirmed its role as a key partner to academic institutions, regulators, and the business community in operationalizing sustainability commitments.
In the coming period, CCTPA will continue to collaborate closely with Can Tho University and partners domestically and internationally. The organization will promote low-emission agricultural models and carbon credit solutions while supporting the implementation of green-market mechanisms. These efforts aim to strengthen the region’s integration into global value chains, particularly the Japanese market.

CCTPA and Can Tho University: Advancing low-emission agriculture
As a strategic partner of Can Tho University, CCTPA plays a pivotal bridging role. Can Tho University maintains more than 45 cooperation agreements with Japanese institutions and is currently developing the “Mekong Delta Food Valley” to elevate the region’s agro-aquatic product brand. CCTPA connects the university with regulators and the business community – an especially important role as the region accelerates its transition toward low-emission agriculture.
Leveraging its expertise in sustainability consulting, CCTPA works with the university to implement various initiatives. Both sides conduct research and pilot low-emission production models. CCTPA supports enterprises in building low-carbon agro-aquatic supply chains and aligning with relevant international mechanisms and standards. These efforts enhance export product value and strengthen competitiveness, enabling businesses to meet global sustainability requirements more effectively.
